We adopted our son Ethan from Kazakhstan. He was a month shy of five years old when we brought him home just one year ago (in August). We worked with World Partners out of Georgia and they were wonderful. They prepared us and gave us all the information possible.
It has been a very challenging year to say the least. Although Ethan seems fairly mainstream, he is mildly emotionally and developmentally delayed. Last fall we were told that he had the bone age of a three-to-five year old when he was actually five, and he has spent the last year just learning to speak in three to four word sentences. But Ethan has come far and I am proud to say that he started Kindergarten today.
