My father, MSGT Richard (Woody) Wood was a mechanic with stratigic air command. He served 2 tours in Veitnam. At the time, I was in early grade school, but recall watching Walter Cronkite on the nightly news and worrying about my father.
It wasn't until recent times and the death of my father that I was told of the possibility that my father might have had a relationship while in Veitnam. I have wondered if I might have a half brother or sister still in Veitnam. This thought has nagged at me for the past 2-3 years. I feel that somehow I should follow-up on this, since to some degree, there is a familial responsibility.
My father never discussed his experiences in Nam and my relationship with him in later years became estranged as a result of his alcoholism.
