AUDIO NARRATION
Magic Lantern Audio 1 concludes with this slide.
THE SINGERS RECEIVED NO APPLAUSE and no pay...except perhaps food. People danced during the singing, often a stately dance with a gentle rise and fall in time to the singing. The Indians used music in the treatment of the sick and some tribes had different songs for each ailment. I have also recorded rain-dance songs on three occasions. I didn't want rain...but rain followed. Once during the Arizona dry season it poured for two or three days.
